What is a C.H.E.K Practitioner? C.H.E.K Practitioners look at the entire human being as an holistic entity. Through an understanding of how the body's control systems integrate, producing our moment-to-moment and long-term physical, emotional, mental and spiritual reality, the C.H.E.K Practitioner can more efficiently and effectively isolate the area(s) where each client needs coaching. After a comprehensive assessment of structure, movement skills, nutrition and lifestyle factors, a customized program is developed. The C.H.E.K system is multidisciplinary, therefore, we seek to prioritize your efforts according to your financial and time commitments; we seek to address the areas most likely to reap the greatest long-term reward, even if they don't include a C.H.E.K Practitioner initially! The C.H.E.K system is educationally-based, yet each C.H.E.K Practitioner applies his/her specific skills to best suit your needs as an individual.
C.H.E.K Practitioners specialize in developing corrective and high-performance exercise programs, wellness, nutrition and lifestyle coaching, all of which are based upon thorough comprehensive assessments. The Role of a C.H.E.K Practitioner is to coach the client back to what they need to do whether it be for sport or work in a pain free state.

The evaluation
This is the starting point for the individual corrective exercise or high-performance programs to follow and usually lasts about two to four hours and will include:
- Exercise history
- History of injury
- Ergonomics (work and Home)
- Postural Analysis
- Core function testing
- Biomechanical assessment
- Range of motion assessment
- Functional movement analysis
- Nutrition and lifestyle assessment
- Physiological load assessment
Its very important for me to know how much physiological load is on someone’s body before writing a program.
Program design
You will not need to be present for this, a highly individualized nutrition and lifestyle, corrective exercise or high-performance exercise program will be developed based upon evaluation.
Program instruction
This is usually a one to two hour session, recommendations for specific exercise equipment will be made depending on evaluation. Your exercise program will have detailed notes to make it more understandable.
Program progression
Follow up sessions are made every two to six weeks in order to update your program.
Clients can opt to train with Rowan face to face weekly in order to ensure good results and exercise form. The face to face weekly sessions has given the best results for many of Rowan’s clients making sure they move through the program quicker and safely without losing motivation.
